What is the G-Shot?

Simply put, the G-Shot® is a treatment designed by Dr. David Matlock to augment a woman’s G-spot. So, technically, the name of the procedure is G-Spot Amplification®. The G-spot (“G” for German gynecologist Ernst Grafenberg) is an erogenous area inside the vagina that experiences intense sexual arousal and sexual gratification. However, the feeling and level of intensity are different in every woman.

The G-Shot® is not intended to produce or enhance vaginal orgasms, but to increase potential stimulation of the G-spot by enlarging it. To do that, Dr. Matlock uses an injection of hyaluranon, a human-engineered variation of hyaluronic acid, which is produced naturally by the body. This is the same ingredient commonly found in dermal fillers and other products used to smooth wrinkles and nasolabial folds, plump lips, and restore a more youthful appearance to other parts of the face.

The G-Shot® is simple and fast

The procedure is performed in-office and takes just 15 minutes, beginning to end. Dr. Matlock uses most of that time to educate the patient about the G-spot. Every woman’s body is different, and the “spot” is not a precise anatomical location. Many women don’t realize that, as a sexual organ, the clitoris is considerably more extensive than the highly sensitive, pea-sized structure at the anterior end of the vulva.

Therefore, as part of the patient education process, each patient first does a private self-examination, as instructed by Dr. Matlock, to locate her own G-spot. Dr. Matlock then confers with her to identify that exact location within her vagina. Using that as a guide, he swabs the vaginal interior, numbs the injection site, and then injects the hyaluranon. The injection itself takes just 8 seconds.

There is no downtime required, so patients can go on with their normal routine. Sexual activity can also be resumed 4 hours after treatment.

Hyluranon is very safe, as is the G-Shot® procedure. Risks are minimal, with less than 1% of patients experiencing post-treatment bleeding or infection. While the procedure can easily fit into even the most hectic schedule (lunchtime is plenty of time), results can last as long as 5 months. The shot is temporary because hyaluranon, like other fillers, is gradually absorbed by the body over time. As with any procedure, individual results may vary.
