Liposculpturing of the Fatty Mons Pubis and Labia Majora (“Camel Toe”)

Many people seek Liposculpturing of the Fatty Mons Pubis and Labia Majora because they want to remove the unsightly fatty bulges in that area, commonly referred to as “camel toe.” Fatty accumulation in these areas can create aesthetic issues in clothing, undergarments, and bathing suits. Most of the time this procedure is performed along with Liposculpturing of other areas.

Liposculpturing of the Fatty Mons Pubis and Labia Majora can last between thirty minutes to forty minutes depending on the amount and extent of the fatty tissue removed.

Patients will provide a complete medical history and a list of medications, including vitamins and herbs, during the initial consultation.

The following are tips that may help shorten the recovery time and decrease the chances of complications.

  • Discontinue using Aspirin (including medications that contain Aspirin), Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E and other supplements as directed. These act as blood thinners and could cause excessive bruising, bleeding or other complications. We will give you a complete list of medications and herbal supplements to avoid prior to your procedure.
  • Stop smoking for at least two weeks before and one week after surgery, as nicotine can impair circulation and healing.

Post Surgery

You should expect some bruising, swelling, and mild pain after the procedure. Medication will be prescribed to control any pain or discomfort.

The recovery process is different for everyone. Most patients are up and about walking the next day. Showers may be resumed on the second day following surgery. Patients may be required to wear a panty-like compression garment for approximately two weeks postoperatively. This will help ensure that the treated areas retain the aesthetically desired contoured appearance. Exercise may be resumed in two weeks after surgery.

The results of Liposculpturing of the Fatty Mons Pubis and Labia Majora are usually best seen after six weeks. The treated areas retain their sculptured appearance for as long as patients maintain a healthy diet, exercise program, and body weight. Patients are provided with a diet and exercise program developed by Dr. Matlock, to assist with maintaining their new physique.
