Vaser Hi Def Liposuction (Vaser Hi Def)
The procedure uses a Vaser ultrasound to sculpture and define the musculature of the body for both men and women. The Vaser also produces 53% more skin tightening. The most common areas include the Six Pack, obliques, LATS, PECS, biceps, triceps and deltoids. As an NPC (National Physique Committee) competitor, I know what it takes, what you want, and how to give it to you.
People come in all shapes and sizes. Every body type has areas that are predisposed to fat storage and even with rigorous diet and exercise, those unwanted bulges often persist. VASER technology and VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing technique now offer a safe alternative for eliminating those stubborn fat deposits to provide that ripped athletic look by defining the musculature of the abs (6 pack), PECS, obliques, LATS, as well as the other muscles of the body.
What is VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing and is it different from traditional liposuction?
A: The VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing system uses state-of-the-art ultrasound technology designed to gently reshape your body. This technique requires that the surgeon to be specially trained in VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing.During this procedure, the deep, middle, and superficial fat is treated with the VASER probe by applying ultrasonic energy. This energy dislodges the globules of fat, while maintaining its viability. A traditional cannula is then used to extract the fat, fine tune, and then sculpt out the muscular structure. This two-step process and the definition of the musculature is what differentiates it from traditional liposuction.
What body areas can be treated with VASER Hi Def Liposculpture?
A: We have experienced great success in treating all of the following areas: Six Pack, obliques, PECS, LATS, biceps, triceps and deltoids. In addition, most muscular groups of the body can be treated.
What type of facility is VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing performed?
A: VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing is performed in a State Licensed and Medicare Certified Surgery Center. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, (awake), IV sedation, twilight or general. Ninety-eight percent of our patients request general.
During your consultation you should provide a complete medical history and a list of medications, including vitamins and herbs.
Here are some tips that may help you shorten your recovery time and decrease your chances of complications.
- Discontinue using Aspirin (including medications that contain Aspirin), Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E and other supplements as directed. These act as blood thinners and could cause excessive bruising, bleeding or other complications. We will give you a complete list of medications and herbal supplements to avoid prior to your procedure.
- Stop smoking for at least two weeks before and one week after surgery, as nicotine can impair circulation and healing.
- Do not drink alcohol in excess for two weeks before your Liposculpturing procedure and one week after the surgery.
You should expect some bruising, swelling and pain after your procedure. If you feel like you have numbness in the areas treated, don’t be alarmed because this is normal. It will abate over time. Pain medication will be prescribed to control any discomfort, however, if you begin to have severe pain, contact us immediately.
The recovery process is different for everyone, but within a day after your VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing, you should be up and walking around. Excess tumescent fluid will most likely drain from the access points for the first day or two. This fluid may be blood tinged as well. You may shower on the second or third day following surgery. Depending on the number of areas treated, you may need to be out of work and away from your usual activities for the first week. Over the next two or three weeks your treated areas may remain very sensitive and strenuous physical activities should be limited. You will also need to wear a special compression garment for up to a month to help ensure a good contour to your treated areas. Exercise may be resumed in two weeks after surgery.
The results of your VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing are usually best seen after six weeks. But you will have continued changes out to four months. Your treated areas should look great and retain their sculptured appearance for as long as you maintain a healthy diet, exercise program, and body weight. To assist in maintaining your new physique, we provide a diet and a personalized exercise program developed by Dr. Matlock.
