Forehead Lift

As we age, the skin and soft tissues of the forehead descend because of gravity. In addition, deep lines and wrinkles form because of the lifetime of contractions of the skin. The overal result is a wrinkled and heavy appearance of the forehead. This can cause one to look very aged and tired.

A forehead lift can restore the forehead to its younger position. In the process, some of the lines and wrinkles become improved. This procedure can significantly rejuvenate the entire look of the face and create a more rested and pleasant look.

There are two techniques to perform the operation. One is the traditional approach called a coronal lift. The other is done using the assistance of a camera and is called an endoscopic browlift.

Coronal Browlift

The coronal browlift is the traditional technique used to perform the forehead lift. It is a technique that has been used safely for more than 30 years. It involves an incision across the scalp. Once the incision is made, the forehead and its soft tissue can be manipulated in order to improve the appearance of lines, reposition the eyebrows, and remove the excess skin which has formed with age. The overal result is to restore the position and shape of the eyebrows to create a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing look.

Endoscopic Browlift

An endoscopic browlift is a technique that uses multiple small incisions and instruments to lift the forehead. A camera is used to provide visualization as special endoscopic instruments are inserted to manipulate the soft tissues. Once the forehead is lifted, absorbable materials are used to maintain the forehead in its new position. The result is to restore the shape and position of the eyebrows to create a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Each procedure has its own risks, benefits and alternatives which will be discussed in detail during the consultation.
